goodness

When thinking about Preserving Goodness, I so often think about Goodness. If we define goodness, the definition says: the quality of being morally good or virtuous. Saying we are virtuous could be construed as arrogant. But here is my take: God created good, even as he made the first man and first woman, He called them good. They sinned, which didn’t make them bad but opened their eyes to good and bad. God didn’t want that for us but it was inevitable. We are not without sin but we can strive for goodness. We can know and understand goodness. We can appreciate good things. As an adjective Good can mean: to be desired or approved of, having the qualities required for a particular role, possessing or displaying moral virtue and giving pleasure; enjoyable or satisfying. These are great characteristics for our image and product. To be good is a good thing, it’s enjoyable and a fruit of the spirit that connects us with God’s goodness. Galatians 5:22-23 says “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. These things are important because they transform us and keep us close to God. I read online at beliefnet.com that “The fruits we receive come directly from the Holy Spirit to sand down the rough edges and harshness in our lives. It is God’s joy, temperance and love for us that infuses our inner man to aid is during our struggles.” I think this is such a beautiful thought. Being like this drives Preserving Goodness. We want to preserve those good things. We want to create an environment that says come as you are. We want to help remind people that there is joy, hope, and love in good things.
